Micro-needling is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny sterile needles. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin to plump and tighten your skin, heal your skin and make you look younger.

Also known as collagen induction therapy/mesotherapy it is very effective on a number of skin problems including scarring and acne minimising the appearance of scar tissue and acne scarring and can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Micro-needling improves cell turnover for a brighter complexion, smoother skin texture, and a reduction in pore size. It also helps with enhanced ingredient absorption and reduces post inflammatory, sun-induced and hormonal pigmentation.

Our micro-needling system produces fantastic results, it is suitable for all skin types, and here at Ethos, we take it a step further by delivering a cocktail of ingredients to the deeper layers of the skin.

What results can I expect?

Smoother skin texture Reduction in pore size Enhanced ingredient absorption Improved cell turnover for a brighter complexion Post Inflamatory, sun induced and hormonal pigmentation can be reduced Increased production of collagen and elastin to plump and tighten Apperance of scar tissue and acne scarring can be minimised

When are results noticed?

Initially, after treatment, you will experience a tightening of the skin as it begins to heal. You can look red from the increased blood flow to the area, and it can feel warm for the evening following the treatment. The next day you will often feel like you have been on holiday and have a lovely glow about your skin. As your skin starts to exfoliate, you will notice a fresher, brighter complexion revealed from removal of dead skin cells. Maximum results regarding collagen production are seen three to four months after treatment, and we do recommend a series of micro-needling for long term results. Each skin is different and responds differently, but we are on hand throughout your treatment course to advise and support you.

How does the treatment work?

The micro-needling pen uses very fine needles that vibrate over the skin to create micro-channels, which helps encourage your skin's natural wound healing response and therefore, will trigger collagen production and growth factors aiding the area to repair itself. With our device at Ethos, we do not need to create deep channels as we use cosmeceutical ingredients in the treatment delivered using nanopore technology to make significant improvements tailored to your specific concerns, giving your skin enhanced results with less downtime.

Pre and Post Care

Pre-treatment A full consultation is required to assess your skin and discuss your needs and suitability. We can treat you with micro-needling on the same day after this as no patch tests are required for this treatment; however, we suggest prepping the skin if there are pigmentation concerns and will advise you if this is deemed necessary for you. In some cases, we may suggest a prescription facial a week before micro-needling to hydrate, clean pores and exfoliate your skin. Post-treatment The skin will appear red and, in some cases, have mild swelling, it can also feel tight and like you have been in the sun. Over the next three to five days, the skin will be healing, and you may notice some flaking or peeling. Sometimes a few small outbreaks can be noticed due to the stimulating nature of this treatment. You will be given a complete pre and post aftercare procedure at your consultation.

We include this treatment in our packages for specific skin concerns. It can be purchased as four treatments to be taken at monthly intervals; please ask us for details.
